Smarter Automation for Naming and Command-Line Workflows
This release makes archiving automation more intuitive and flexible. Archive names can now include full weekday and month names automatically for better organization, while command-line switches have been simplified and expanded. Users can combine multiple settings in a single switch, use cleaner syntax, and reset solid archive data when needed — all while maintaining compatibility with existing workflows.

WinRAR 7.20 also enhances everyday workflows and performance. Search results can now be copied directly to the clipboard, while extremely large archives open significantly faster. Extraction of TAR-based files (TAR, TAR.GZ, TAR.XZ, and similar formats) is faster than ever, even on slower drives or archives containing many files.
Bug Fixes for Greater Reliability
Key issues have been resolved to improve reliability. The “Files to exclude” field now works correctly when creating multiple ZIP archives with “Put each file to separate archive” enabled, and the “Use for all archives” option in password prompts now behaves correctly when converting archives without encrypted file names.
