Creating split archives

Split archives (also called multi volumes) are only supported in RAR format. Usually split archives are used to split a large archive into several parts to be saved onto serveral disks or any other data carrier.

To create a split archive start topack your files as you would normally do.

Once you are prompted to enter the file name, enter the desired file size for each separate part of your split archive or choose the automatic option. In the automatic mode WinRAR will recognize when the disk you are saving your archive to is full and prompt you to insert a new disk.

WinRAR will create several archives with the settings you chose.

4.

These archives can be saved to any data carrier.
