What does the file-extension .rar stand for?
(Ron) It stands for Roshal Archiver in the same way that the PK in PKZip stands for Phil Katz.

Why did you guys invent and pursue this packing standard?
(Ron) It was Eugene's university dissertation and at the time it was
completed I believed it to have a lot of market potential, Eugene and I got together and here we in 2002 with what we hope is a succesful product.

How do you keep assuring your customers best quality and excellence?
(Ron) This is an easy one to answer, it is simply to listen to what our
customers have to say about what they want to see in the product and then taking the best of those ideas and thoughts into the next release. This is not the only function which guides the product but it is a major factor, we consider the competition and also ideas from other areas of the computer industry. WinRAR has proven to be a leader in compression technology and with the help of our loyal customers, we will continue to lead the field in innovation.

You have integrated mail functionality to win.rar 3.0. In addition to your password protection and to the AV Seal(authentivity verification seal) that gives the user the ability to easily create an archive that is e-mail-attached, packed, 128-bit-password-protected, sealed, and self extracting! What are your further plans to pursue win.rar's professionality?
(Ron) Eugene is the keeper of the mystic "to-do" list, so he must answer this one with as much of the secret plans as he cares to let out. Whatever it is I am sure it will be as groundbreaking as in previous releases.

What are win.rar's strenghts right now, concerning Internet usability?
(Eugene) High RAR compression, decompression of large number of different archiving formats, multivolume archives. It is what most important for Internet, I think.
