1. WinRAR 3.90 beta 3 Released!
win.rar GmbH and rarlab.com are proud to announce the third beta version of the new WinRAR 3.90. This is yet another step ahead for the most complete archiving software on the market.
** Highlights of the 3.90 beta3 release:
1. WinRAR displays only one password prompt when unpacking 7z archive
with encrypted file names.
2. Further improvements in shell extension performance. Now WinRAR
context menu must be more responsive when working with thousands
of selected files.
3. Bugs fixed:
a) WinRAR could display random characters as archive comment
when browsing some ZIP SFX archives, which do not contain
any archive comment;
b) switch -ed did not prevent extraction of empty folders;
c) WinRAR could fail to compress some of subfolders specified
in the command line if -n switch was present;
d) WinRAR could crash when decompressing some of corrupt RAR archives.

2. What is a beta version?
A beta version, as opposed to a final version, is software that is undergoing its final stages in testing. We release beta versions to our customers so that the final set of bugs can be found and eliminated from WinRAR.

3. How to upgrade your old WinRAR version?
Upgrading is quick and easy. Users only need to download WinRAR 3.90 beta 1 at www.win-rar.com/download.html and install the newest version of WinRAR to continue using the best compression tool around! Please close all open WinRAR archives and exit WinRAR before installing. No complicated uninstalling of the previous version is necessary.
