win.rar GmbH Announces Fourth Record Selling Year in a Row

15. February 2006

After the unprecedented sales record in 2004, expectations for sales in 2005 were naturally very high and even surpassed these expectations. WinRAR, global leader in proprietary compression technology, has been able to further increase its sales and share in the compression market in 2005, making it the fourth consecutive record selling year after 2002, 2003 and 2004. Through this great sales increase, the company now reaps the rewards of introducing new people, new ideas and new sales strategies.

win.rar GmbH has been able to further improve sales in 2005 by almost 30% compared to 2004. As in previous years, this can be attributed mostly to a spectacular new sales record in the fourth quarter of 2005, especially in the month of December. "The high sales figures in 2005, prove that a few price changes and further expansion of our distribution network is the right strategy", states managing director Oncul Kaya. "

The increase in sales also shows the continuing and growing trust private and corporate users place in WinRAR. This trust has intensified throughout 2005, since unlike many competitors, fees for updates and support were not introduced for WinRAR. Especially corporate WinRAR users feel that free updates and support make their long term cost planning easier. While competitors' market shares in the compression market are declining due to their new restrictive policies on updates and support, WinRAR's market share continues to grow.

win.rar GmbH's success strategy for 2005 has been to introduce new marketing techniques, new ideas and to rapidly expand its network of distribution partners. As sales have grown, the company has also grown. win.rar GmbH is employing a lot more people now and are getting ready for even bigger sales in 2006. Managing director Oncul Kaya expects sales in 2006 to surpass the high level of 2005, as the WinRAR success story continues.
